Our mission is to help patients live healthier lives. We provide a caring, nurturing environment where your comfort and health is of primary importance.
Please review the following instructions to help you prepare for your upcoming surgery. Should you have any last-minute questions, please do not hesitate to call us at 540-548-2605 during regular business hours.
You should receive your pre/post-operative prescriptions along with this instruction sheet. For your convenience, please have them filled prior to your scheduled surgery, unless they have already been communicated to your preferred pharmacy. Remember to bring your filled prescriptions to your appointment.
It is important to discuss with Dr. Hagar the potential impact of any anti-coagulant therapy on your surgery and the subsequent healing process. Medications with anti-coagulant properties include prescription drugs such as Warfarin (Coumadin) and Clopidogrel (Plavix), as well as over-the-counter medications like aspirin, naproxen, ibuprofen, and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents. Vitamins and supplements with similar properties should also be taken into consideration.
If you are prescribed a pre-operative antibiotic, please take it as directed prior to your surgery.
Unless instructed otherwise (for example, when IV sedation is planned), please consume some food and/or liquids before your procedure.
Our office tends to be kept cool, so dress accordingly. We kindly ask that you wear clothing that allows easy access for the application of a blood pressure cuff.
We look forward to providing you with excellent care during your surgery.
Fredericksburg Dentist & Implant Center provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment. We understand that even the slightest enhancement to your smile can boost your self-confidence and elevate your personal presence. When you feel good about your smile, it radiates in every aspect of your appearance.
Please inform our office of any allergies or sensitivities you have to antibiotics. If our doctor deems it necessary, you will be prescribed an antibiotic—please take as directed until gone. It is recommended that you do not take these medications on an empty stomach to help prevent nausea. Additionally, for women who take birth control pills, please be aware that antibiotics may reduce their effectiveness.
If you elect to use some type of adjunctive sedation therapy, you must have a ride to and from the office. Remember, we encourage you to eat prior to your surgery.
Please refer to the following list of recommended food choices for your pre-surgery nourishment:
• Ensure/Slim Fast
• Soups
• Pudding
• Rice
• Applesauce
• Oatmeal
• Macaroni & Cheese
• Mashed Potatoes
• Jell-O

• Pasta
